Anzac Day (April 25) is a time for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude. Across the country, Australians come together to honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans and current service members. Whether you attend a dawn service or take a quiet moment of reflection, here’s how you can respectfully commemorate the day.

Visit the centre to purchase a Poppy or Anzac badge from the official Anzac Day Appeal, located on Ground Level in front of OPSM. Available until Friday 25 April (Anzac Day).

Attend a Local Anzac Day Dawn Service.

Join the community in paying tribute at the nearest RSL Dawn Service:

Altona RSL
⏰ March from Altona RSL at 5:30 am, with Dawn Service beginning at 6am at Cenotaph/Eternal Flame
📍 31 Sargood Street, Altona

Arrive early, wear respectful attire, and take a moment to reflect on the significance of the ceremony.

How to Show Your Respect on Anzac Day.

✅ Observe a Moment of Silence – Whether at a service or in your own time, pause at dawn to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of our servicemen and women.

✅ Wear a Red Poppy or Rosemary – Symbols of remembrance, these are traditionally worn to honour the fallen.

✅ Attend a Community March or Service – Many local RSLs host commemorative marches and services throughout the day.

✅ Bake Traditional Anzac Biscuits – A simple yet meaningful way to connect with history and share the spirit of Anzac Day with family and friends.

Lest We Forget.

Anzac Day is more than just a public holiday—it’s a chance to reflect, remember, and show gratitude. However you choose to commemorate the day, do so with respect and appreciation for those who have served.
